To all who read this:
Kent was a good man. He was always there to support a bro. Even though he was only a Teke for less than a month before his passing he had touched every single active. To me he was more than just a friend. He was my pledge bro and a friend from High School. I could never picture Kent leaving this world like this. It hurts me bad inside and it just hurts so bad. His fire was at a full flame. Nothing was able to stop him. Untill that dreadful Tuesday night. The memories of him are everlasting. I remember the time me and him went to the BI(the Branding Iron). We were never so confused and happy in our lives. Kent Country line dacing in old chucks. Thinking of it just cracks me up on how we were bumbing into people. That night was insane. At times I wished I could turn back the hands of time and relive every moment spent with Kent. If it wasn't for Kent I wouldnt be a Teke. For that and many other valuable memories I will charish and love. Kent I will miss you. If your reading this from heaven smile and know that your fire will burn in everyones hearts forever. Rest in peace 221.

I’m not even sure where I should start. Kent Ruffino was a great man, and I struggle to say man. Kent was so young, 19 to be exact and in my eyes he was still a boy when he left this world. As Kent’s Hegemon I had intended to see him through on his way to man hood. I remember the first time I had ever hung out with Kent. It was while we were still rushing him. He had a six-hour break and when I bumped into him on my lunch break, I asked if he wanted to go to lunch. When we got there I bought him lunch and I saw his eyes light up. I’m not sure what went through his mind but it had to have been something like “this guy barely knows me, and he is buying me lunch. This is something I want to be a part of.” I think that he was impressed. From then on he was hardcore. He brought Fernando by for us to meet him and technically doubled the size of his pledge class. Throughout his pledge program I doubt the thought of quitting ever crossed his mind. If anything, Kent convinced Fernando and Friendy not to quit when they got frustrated. I have many memories of Kent, from that first time I hung out with him, to the last time I saw him in the CSUSB computer lab working on his paper. I only knew Kent for a few short months, but I have memories to last a lifetime. Kent had an impact upon my life and the lives of many others. No one could wear tight Dickies, a Blink 182 shirt, Converse low tops and still be a ladies man like Kent was. Once again, Kent if you’re looking down from heaven and reading this, please know that you’ll always be missed and we’ll never forget you. Kent you’re in a better place now, you were an AH-some Bro, and your contributions to TKE will live on. May you rest in peace 221.
